Freedom
I, awesomley, finally have a free night to slob out with my computer instead of being expected to be all sociable and slob out with the family. I am celebrating this freedom by watching David Tennant be adorable on The Friday Night Project and stealing this meme from pen37, because it's irresistible. Please to be ignoring the wording and asking me about anything: Who, SPN, Heroes, Mighty Boosh (HOMG Mighty Boosh regency AU! How amazing would that be? VERY.)

The Hypothetical AU Meme: Take any one of the fandoms you know I write AND give me a type of AU (space opera AU, pirate AU, superhero AU, Ancient Rome, Regency England etc.). I will then explain what story from that fandom I would write for that AU.

Oh mna, that would rock. O.K, so Sam is a giraffe, tall and a bit gawky, but suprisingly strong and VERY, VERY tall! And Dean's, like, a massive lion or something, all shaggy and rangy and violent. And Jo can be a gazelle and Ellen a lioness and there can be an impala and there can be a wise old hippo for Bobby. AWESOME.

I LOLed. A lot. OK, so John et Deane Eppee are father and son swordsmiths, struggling to make a living in the days before the revolution. Deane has been brought up by his father to hate the decadent aristos. Little does he know that John's hatred for all rich stems from the fact that the Comte D'Jauneoeil stole his brother to raise as his own when he was a baby. When the revolution comes, Deane et John must save thea young aristo, Samuel, from the guillotine. Together, they must discover the truth behind their family history, while avoiding those like Citizen Gordonne Ambulator, who seek to kill all aristocrats regardless.


Man, can you tell I'm bored too. Though, to be fair, that sounds AMAZING.

But they all know the Winchester Eppees' situation and are trying to help John and Deane without looking like they are, else it's the guillotine for them as well!

It all cumulates in a dramatic escape to England where Samuel will be safe and they settle down in the town of Winchester and change their name accordingly.

OK, so if it's English, then it will clearly be a "brother against brother" thing. Sam Winchester fights for the roundheads, pious and a little puritanical, but staunch in defending his principles. Unknown to him, his brother, a good, chivalrous man, but loving fine clothes and the intruiges and seductions of court, is still alive, and fighting for the Cavaliers. What will happen when brother facesbrother on the battle field?

American civil war, I'm seeing "Gone with the Wind." Totally overblown and awesome. The Winchester brothers, living all their lives on their cotton estate, never think to question the slavery that supports their way of life. Hunting, riding and hosting parties, they live a charmed existence. But as war draws near they must struggle to survive. Against a backdrop of the fall of the South, they must band together with their former slaves, learning and growing along the way.

Amazing prompt, by the way!

Omg, how about Mary died when they were little of some disease or other (or maybe childbirth) and John and Dean believe it to be part of God's plan and all that, but Sam's got it into his head somehow that it's because they weren't pious enough and are being punished by God. The years go by and Sam gets more and more puritan, fighting with John over it and Dean just wants to keep his family together, but ultimately is on John's side.

Then war breaks out! Cue Sam buggering off and gallivanting around the country to shoot statues off of churches *shakes fist* and battling elsewhere. THEN brothers meet on the battlefield, John having been killed in an earlier skirmish and Dean's all broken-hearted and kind of just wants to stop fighting and Sam's all ready to keep going but seeing his brother like that makes him want to not kill him (though it does back up his theory for God punishing them).

Anyway, Cromwell comes to power, but in the end Sam hates him just as much as the rest of the country. Final scene: everybody celebrating Cromwell's death, happiest funeral in history!

*attmpts to breathe* God, I love your brain. That is EXACTLY what must happen. Excapt maybe Sam runs away at first to one of the universities, like Cambridge which I think was famous for being anti establishment, and starts studying to be a priest, against his father's wishes, and meets a lady in church, but then WAR BREAKS OUT AND MAYBE SOME SOLDIERS KILL HER AND HE RUNS OF TO FIGHT THEN.

English Civil War - Cool! although, given what very little I've been taught about the English Civil War - I wonder if Sam would have ended up as one of the witch hunters? I should research that. . .

As for the Americian Civil War - again cool! Heh, maybe their plantation was the infamous Myrtles. . . :)

Oh man, this is too exciting. I reckon Sam's powers would pretty much have to be seeing the future, right? Except, instead of painting it, he has to assemble the images he sees from the printed word, going into a vision and waking up with boks shredded, signs pulled of the wall, and, in the middle of it all, a message. That would be awesomly in keeping with his research and vision skills!

Dean would totally want a kickass power like time travel. But I reckon he's too unlucky for that, so I'll go with Micha's, talking to machines (and the Impala, obviously!) John would have something like super strength, maybe, and Bobby probably the memory thing. Bela should be a shapeshifter, cos she's tricksy, and Ellen needs something kickass, maybe ice (also, bonusly, good for chilling drinks and cooling of drunks!)

Ooo, Sam's power sounds really cool! I always thought Dean's would be like that, he likes to tinker with stuff. Being able to do anything with machines is so useful! I figure Bela would have illusion tho, seems more fitting. Ellen would make awesome use of the ice power.

Sam: What happened to the Ipod? And my cell phone? And why does the laptop look like it exploded and then put together again?
Dean: I took it apart and used your stuff to upgrade it. Now you can get high-speed wireless anywhere in the world, for free, totally untraceably. :DDD And access just about any online library anywhere.
Sam: O_O Wow. Okay. I love you.
Dean: Oh sure, *now* you appreciate my mechanical genius. Didn't seem nearly so enthused about my EMF meter. I can still tell the laptop to electrocute you, you know.
