A/N: A million months ago (or four)girlfan1979 gave me a prompt for some slash fic. I was all aghast and flaily and proclaimed I CANNOT WRITES THE SLASH!!! But i really liked the idea that each Winchester would be with another man if he was desperate enough. I wrote the Sam part pretty quick, and the Dean part came fairly easily as well. But John? He was a wily and tricksy bastard and completely eluded me. Bella's been helping me with my CM fic so I asked her to read what I wrote, along with my notes for John. Because bella is made of win, she read my notes and proceeded to write the MOST AWESOME John section EVER. It's brilliant and beautiful and I'm thrilled and honored and excited to have written something with her!!!! So girlfan, I'm sorry this took to so long, but I we hope you like it. *hearts*

I did start the fic today -- lunchtime, at work. My boss was out of town, so I had our little conference room to myself. Got about a page and a half done, and it's looking like the fic will be long-ish (meaning, 6000 words? 8000? In that range, maybe).
But I think it's gonna take a few days. It's Summer In The City, and even with two air conditioners running full time, it's very warm and muggy in here. Which makes the Muse doze off. So I'll chip away at things -- that fic, and some others I've got simmering.
The good news is, I signed up for vacation days next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I have to take my dad in for his cataract surgery, and take him back to the doctor the following day. Plus whatever other errands my parents need done, since my mom doesn't drive. But the rest of the time? If the house is reasonably cool, I should be able to do some serious ficcing.
In the meantime: just wanted to say THANKS for all your comments and questions and cool icons and ... everything. I LOVE hanging out with you guys. When my day sucks, you always cheer me up. (Well, not ALWAYS. But 95% of the time.) Hope your week is going well, that your Muses are happy, and that you'll continue to hang around these parts!
anxiousCan't sleep - damn time zone adjustment - so you're getting the result of insomnia and thoughts I'll probably expand upon in my season 4 and Donna essay, once I get to write it. As it turns out, The Unicorn and the Wasp, other than being madcap comic relief before the final five (ahem, cross fandom joke, and it's actually six, but I can count Moffat's two parter as one, can't I?), also contains, I position, some big time paralleling and foreshadowing regarding Donna's past, present and future. It's the last part that causes my insomnia to be happy.
