So, what have I been doing? Basically, the last month or so, I've been working freelance, which seems to make me slightly less likely to procrastinate than ususal! I've also had my well loved laptop break, so am currently stuck to my home computer, where there is ALWAYS SOMEONE WATCHING (dun dun.) Needless to say, I haven't been checking my F-list much, or writing fic, since all these activities tend to lead to awkward questions of the WTF nature! Still, thought I should post to remind you guys that you're awesome, that I'm still alkive, and haven't fallen down aa pit of Sarlac or anything (and thus, still alive but slowly being dissolved over a thousand years, which would probably be even worse.)
I miss you guys! I'm now going to go try and answer comments, at least on fic, so I'll leave you with this, picked up from my research work: Did you know that the Island of Sumatra had a thriving trade, in the 13th century, in fake pygmies? People literally made their entire living by shaving and preserving monkeys, then flogging them to traders. God, I love the world.
All That You Can't Leave Behind
My story is up too (they're all anonymous.) I'm thinking no one will guess I wrote it, since it's not really my style, thought there's probably a few clues! Not my best work by a long shot, and almost pure angst. I know! I am really not living up to any of my reputations today *g*
I love Buffy. Been way to long since I watched it. And man, how fanficcy is that show? It had Evil!Characters, slash, strange and ill advised new sisters, strange and ill advised pairings, eveything! Anyone ever in that fandom? What was it like? Was the fic just too easy?
Also: Jared Padalekiwhatsit is ridiculously pretty, and needs to stop making me want to watch "The Christmas Cottage" already.
Also Also: I NEED NEW SPN NOW. OR I WILL BE FORCED TO GO READ SPOILERS! Anyone have any advice on willpower? Why isn't it next friday or saturday (when I will likely be able to access the episodes) yet?
Also Also Also: This random post is bought to you by writer's block. I am NOT ALLOWED to have help for this remix fic thing, and I simply cannot do it. No, I cannot. It sucks to be me *g* (Don't worry, I have an idea, it just sucks and I don't want to write it!)
Ok, so I went for drinks with my uni mates last night. Then I went to see my brother's band with two of my oldest friends, at possibly the only place in London with decent £3 cocktails. (That's cheap, for us!) We came home, pissed about, and I had caffiene. Then we walked to the station singing "Team America" songs. I came back, couldn't sleep, and had fun answering you guy's comments to my poll, and emailing girlfan1979
Anyway, the point is, I was VERY merry/happy/silly last night, and thus should TOTALLY be forgiven for any fic that happened to...happen. OK? Things can seem like an extremly good idea at 3.30 in the morning.
I should have more sensible, gen fic for you by the end of the day. I think it's gonna be good, actually, if written in a slightly hungover state.
I completly forgot to link to the amazing, far too complimentary DVD commentary
It's here
I also didn't even start a
1. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
3. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag whoever wants to do it.
I'm gonna do this mainly about fandom and writing and LJ and things!
1. I am the Joan of Arc of Scmooptasia. And I will be iconing that as soon as I figure out how to make moving icons.
2. I totally posted the last fact in the hope that someone would step up and tell me how to make moving icons. I'm so unsubtle!
3. After I post fic, I generally log off for a while/overnight, so I won't look overly keen with answering comments immediately! I know, it's pathetic, isn't it.
4. I sometimes think I am too silly for fandom. For example, I recently posted a very silly poll about whether John Winchester was a good guy to
5. I signed up for the
6. I, honestly and trully, worry about the balance on my LJ between Dr Who and Supernatural, and feel bad that my SPN tag is bigger. These are the things that worry me!
7. The oddest things tend to inspire my fics. For example, the entire "Bureaucracy verse" was inspired by a fic summary I saw where Sam was evil and keeping Dean as a sex slave. I just imagined the following conversation:
"Dude, we can only have sex what, like, four times a night? Say two hours a pop, that only fills 8 hours. What am I suppposed to do for the rest of the time?"
"Oh my God, Dean! I've got to see the president tomorrow! I've had a hard day being evil, I just want to sleep! *mumbles* four times a night, sheesh!"
"But I'm booored." *hits with pillow*
I quickly realised that I wanted to write gen, but that was the first ever idea I had for any fic! I feel quite brave sharing that with you guys, actually...
Everyone should go read the
THE RULES:
1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like.
2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
I'm answering for
1. I have some amazing writers on my F-list. *loves you all*
2. When someone credits you with a challenge idea, it is your solem duty to pimp said challenge as hard as you can.
So I bring you the two
P.S I would like to make a special request to
I just got a new mood-theme. And it's called "quite lickable"! I swear, this place....
E.T.A Scratch that, it was annoying me. Why can't you get the god themes in "Expressions" without a paid account? That sucks.
E.T.A again. Ok, so I'm not so sure LJ is so wonderful anymore. WTF are they doing with the random purging? I haven't noticed anything being affected, but still, free speech surly counts for something? I suppose its better to be too strict about this stuff rather than too lenient, but still. Fiction and novels are NOT REAL. NO THEY ARE NOT. I'm a crazy fangirl and I realise that!
So, this is my LJ, huh? It's pretty scary, I'm not exactly sure how everything works, and I can't figure out how to do much. I 'm in the middle of exams at the moment, so its actually a really dumb time to be setting this up. I'll probably get more into posting over the summer holidays, when I'll have more time. If anybody is reading this, it's probably because I friended them and they have no idea who I am. Sorry! I just wanted an LJ to keep track of all the awesome internet thingees out there, web comics, writers and stuff. I'm seriously not a scary person.
